How Shipping Really Works
How Shipping Really Works
- We have to make your item first.
printing & packing takes upto 3 working days. (a little longer during busy season) - Then we post it with the service you picked.
Royal Mail 24 – gets to you 1–2 working days after we send it.
Royal Mail 48 – gets to you 2–3 working days after we send it.
So, for Royal Mail 24, for example, total time is our 2–3-day processing + their 1–2-day delivery.

How to use
See our guide below for tips and tricks to get the best out of your fresheners.
How to use
Sublimation-felt air fresheners hold vibrant prints and deliver weeks of steady fragrance when loaded, cured, and topped up correctly. This guide covers three carrier bases, application methods, sealed curing, and an optional reusable spritz.
Materials & Tools
Item | Purpose |
---|---|
Fragrance oil or essential oil | The scent load |
Augeo diffuser base | Slow-release carrier |
Dipropylene glycol (DPG) | Steady-release fixative |
Isopropyl alcohol | Fast-drying carrier for short bursts or refill spritz. Not ideal as the main carrier for long-term diffusion. |
Blotting paper or paper towel | Absorbs surface pooling |
Fine-mist sprayer | Even coverage |
Petri dish | For controlled soaking application |
Zip-lock bags | Airtight curing |
Small spray bottles (5–10 ml)* | Optional for customer top-ups |
Carrier Options & Ratios
Carrier | Pros / Cons | Oil : Carrier Ratio |
---|---|---|
Augeo base | Slow, consistent release; eco-friendly; ideal for long-lasting performance. | 10–25 % oil : 90–75 % base |
Dipropylene glycol (DPG) | Inexpensive, good fixative; reliable slow release but needs longer curing. | 10–25 % oil : 90–75 % DPG |
Isopropyl alcohol | Fast-drying, easy to find. Best for refillable top-up sprays or a quick scent boost. Not recommended as the main carrier if you want weeks of throw. | 10–20 % oil : 90–80 % alcohol |
Application Tips
- Petri Dish Method: Place the air freshener flat into a Petri dish before adding fragrance. Use a pipette to apply the fragrance evenly around the edges if the design is less likely to bleed.
- For bolder prints that may bleed, use a fine-mist sprayer instead for a more controlled and even application.
- Important: Under-loading is the number-one reason for poor longevity. 2–3 light sprays usually lasts only a day. Continue coating (in passes) until the felt is uniformly damp but not dripping.
- Target load: The felt should look evenly darkened, with no dry patches, and feel slightly moist to the touch. Avoid pooling or visible surface liquid.
- Allow the freshener to soak and gently turn it to ensure even coverage on both sides.
- The freshener should be fully loaded but never dripping wet. Oversaturation can damage the print and reduce performance.
- Let each side absorb and dry fully (around 10 minutes) before flipping or re-coating.
- Depending on the design, multiple light coats with full drying between gives the best scent throw while protecting your design.
Sealed-Bag Curing
- Place fresheners in a zip-lock bag, press out excess air, and seal.
- Let rest upright for 24–48 hours at room temperature.
- Open the bag and air out for 30–60 minutes before packaging or hanging.
Optional Reusable Re-Spritz
For sellers who wish to market the fresheners as reusable, include a 5–10 ml spray bottle pre-filled with a mild carrier mix. This lets customers refresh the scent themselves with a light spritz.
- Shake the bottle gently before each use.
- Lightly mist the freshener every 3–5 days.
- Store the spray bottle in a cool, dark place when not in use.
Testing & Optimization
- Test small batches at different oil ratios (10 %, 15 %, 20 %, 25 %).
- Evaluate initial strength, longevity, and evenness of diffusion.
- Log results to determine the optimal ratio per carrier.
Troubleshooting
- Uneven scent: reduce oil percentage or switch to a slower carrier.
- Weak throw: increase oil percentage, or make sure you're fully loading the fibres without under-spraying.
- Fades too fast: increase the total load (2–3 sprays isn’t enough) and allow a full sealed-bag cure.
- Print bleed: your freshener was oversaturated. Apply a light coating, let fully dry before reapplying. Multiple coats with dry time in between is safer than oversaturation.
Safety & Storage
- Keep all carriers away from flames, some are flammable.
- Label bottles with oil percentage and mix date.
- Store finished fresheners in sealed bags until use or shipment.
*Small spray bottles are optional (not supplied by us) and only needed if offering a reusable refresh option.

Upload Your Design
To get the best result we recommend using images with full colour or soft backgrounds.
A light, textured or “busy” background can work well to help disguise ink bleed.
Branding Tip
Adding your logo is a great way to promote your brand, it gets seen when customers use their freshener on the go.
However, from a buyer’s perspective, some customers may prefer a more decorative or themed design rather than a branded one.
If you’re selling to the public, consider offering both options for wider appeal.
