CLP Article 17 Requirements

Key Label Elements According to CLP Article 17

When labeling your products under the CLP Regulation, certain elements must be included to ensure compliance. These elements are:

  • Name: Your name, or if registered as a business, your business name.
  • Address and Telephone Number: This must be traceable and provide a way to contact you.
  • Weight: This does not have to be on the CLP label but should be somewhere on your product.
  • Product Identifiers: Clearly identify the product being labeled.
  • Hazard Pictograms: Include these if they are triggered by the product's classification.
  • Signal Word: Use this if it is triggered by the product's classification.
  • Hazard Statements, Precautionary Statements, and Supplemental Information: Include these where applicable to convey necessary safety information.
